I am sure many of you have heard of James Kennedy’s arrest for DV. I find this story very interesting especially considering others in the Bravo World who were cancelled for much less. The things that concern me regarding the protection of James Kennedy are this:
- The destruction of Tom Sandavol. The way the world has went after Tom Sandavol for cheating on the beloved Ariana but has turned a blind eye to James’s sketchy past is pretty eye rolling. Our beloved Ariana has supported James and expressed nothing but adoration towards him. Do you honestly believe she has never heard or witness his disturbing behavior towards women. Kristen and Rachel have both hinted at abuse from him. And now he gets arrested for it. The selected outrage is pretty disturbing and the fact that Bravo dragged Tom and Rachel through the trenches of hell for having an affair but refuse to address anything regarding James’s behavior is gross. Stop protecting men who abuse women.
- The alleged victims may not be as likeable. One of Jame’s alleged victims is Kristen Doute. Kristen has not been a fan favorite due to her own questionable behavior at times. But to me this is how abuses get away with manipulating people. They use their victim’s weaknesses as a way to get people on their side. A great example is Ariana, who is so likeable was cheated on and the world went up in arms. But Kristen, who tells her manager to “suck a dick” is overlooked and her abuse is swept under the rug. Likeability should not determine what we choose to be outraged about.
- Stop protecting men who abuse women in any way. I feel that James plays to people’s sympathy because he has demons and had a rough childhood. So, he cries and says he sorry and people fall for it. This is called manipulation. A skilled abuser will do this to get you to feel sorry for them. They cry and say they are going to change but never do. I want to see Bravo do better. I love watching bravo as it is an escape for me, but I cannot turn a blind eye to accepting bad behavior from some and holding others to the cross. It needs to be fair. Stop letting James manipulate you and the public.
- Finally, I want to see the women in the cast of Vanderpump Rules speak out against this. They all know that they have seen and heard of questionable behavior by James. And some of them claim to be friends with Kristen and Ally, but they don’t speak up on their behalf. Shame on you!
